Explore Old Hollywood at the city's most romantic escape
ATLANTA (February 1, 2019) – It's “lights, camera, action” during the most romantic night of the year at the Atlanta Botanical Garden’s annual Valentines in the Garden.
Set for Thursday, Feb. 14 from 7 – 11 p.m., the Garden brings Old Hollywood’s vintage cinema to life with various garden spaces themed to classic film favorites.
While there, enjoy an array of savory bites and desserts from Atlanta’s top chefs, dancing to live music, giveaways, vow renewals, cash bars and the opportunity to explore Orchid Daze. The annual plant exhibition, presented February 9 – April 7, features tropical settings lush with exquisite, fragrant orchids throughout the Fuqua Conservatory and Orchid Center, home to one of the largest collections of species orchids in the United States.
Enter the Garden like Bogart and Bergman at the Casablanca premiere with searchlights, vintage photo ops, live music and more with catering by Legendary Events. Wander to the Canopy Walk where “Nature’s Wonders,” the world’s largest curtain of synchronized light, glows in pink and red with a backdrop of romantic songs from films old and new.
Enjoy scenes from It Happened One Night and light bites from Lowcountry Catering on the Longleaf restaurant rooftop terrace before heading to Day Hall, where The Great Gatsby comes to life with stunning decor, big band music by Infinity Show Band and catering by Proof of the Pudding.
It’s a Roman Holiday in the Gardenhouse Gallery and Mediterranean-inspired Cox Courtyard, where Affairs to Remember caters treats both sweet and savory. On Alston Overlook, enjoy a photo booth, spiced nuts and complimentary coffee. Maybe you’ll run into a classic celebrity for photo ops in the Levy Parterre on your way to Mershon Hall, where dueling deejays and a cash bar light up the night.
Imagine getting your own little blue box in the Breakfast at Tiffany’s Snack Bar catered by A Divine Event. Make your way to the Great Lawn for vow renewals and enjoy unique dance performances, photo ops with the Hollywood sign and a drive-in movie experience.
Finally, head to the Skyline Garden which is transformed into a speakeasy, with Singing in the Rain dance performances, live music, signature cocktails, catering by Party Execs and a photo booth for commemorating your whirlwind night.
