Multiple studies have identified D.A.R.E.’s use of law enforcement officers to deliver its science and evidence-based curricula as the critical distinction that sets it above all other prevention education programs.
D.A.R.E. officers receive an 80-hour training course conducted by highly skilled mentors with many years of experience in the classroom, as well as university-level educators. All officers are taught to deliver the curricula exactly as they are written, thereby achieving the goal of nearly 100% implementation fidelity.
“If I could afford it, every officer in my Sheriff’s Office would be D.A.R.E. certified. D.A.R.E. training offers leadership skills that no other training can match.”
