In partnership with the Nashville Shakespeare Festival, the Frist Center presents "Shakespeare in the Galleries," a one-of-a-kind performance alongside the works on view in Telling Tales: Stories and Legends in 19th-Century American Art. Featuring dramatic scenes and readings from the classic comedies, dramas, and poems that inspired early American artists, this program will not only bring together the works of art and the prose that inspired them, but also explore how these works often portrayed contemporary concerns in America.
