Amy Grant Welcomes Campers for 2nd Annual “Barefoot at the Farm” This Summer

Nashville, TN – June 8, 2016 – Last summer during eight overnight and six day camp sessions, more than 1600 campers, summer staff and volunteers came together at Barefoot Republic Camp, representing 40 different ethnicities. This summer, Barefoot anticipates 25% growth due to two new day camp session venues, a new treehouse village and increased camper enrollment for two sessions at Amy Grant’s farm in Franklin, TN.

After one of her daughters attended a week-long overnight session at Barefoot’s overnight camp, Grant fully caught Barefoot’s vision for Christ-centered, multi-cultural camping ministry and invited Barefoot to host day camp sessions on her 450-acre property in 2015. “Hosting Barefoot at the Farm last summer were two of the most amazing weeks of my life...we are excited to have the campers back this year,” Amy Grant shared. This week, “Barefoot at the Farm” began for K-7th graders and will take place June 6-10 and next week June 13-17. It is anticipated that over 50% of the 450 campers will receive financial assistance through Barefoot’s “Counting the Kids” Annual Scholarship Fund.

Tommy Rhodes, Executive Director of Barefoot Republic, said, “I am grateful for Amy’s heart, generosity and desire to host 'Barefoot at the Farm' on her family property again this summer. We’re so excited to see Barefoot continue to grow and serve more children through this beautiful setting in the heart of middle-Tennessee. This unique location allows Barefoot Republic to offer more traditional outdoor programs such as horseback, tree climbing, fishing, mountain biking and archery that we cannot provide at other day camp venues. The farm will also host other classic Barefoot programs like team sports, music production, STOMP, dance, photography and more.”

In addition to seven overnight sessions in KY and one in Southern California, Barefoot’s day camp dates and locations are as follows:
