PHILADELPHIA, April 5, 2018— MSC Retail announced today a lease transaction with Shake Shack at The White Building, 105 South 12th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19109. The burger, fries and shake establishment will occupy 3,600 SF on the ground floor and is projected to open in late-2018. 

Born from a hotdog cart in Madison Square Park in 2001, Shake Shack prides itself as a modern day “roadside” burger stand. With locations across the globe, Shake Shack has grown enormously popular due to its affordability, accessibility, addictive menu, and friendly staff. 

The newest Shake Shack location is opening in the heart of the booming East Market section of Center City, just one block from over 1,900 hotel keys, two blocks from the Pennsylvania Convention Center and one block from Thomas Jefferson Hospital. In addition, Fashion District Philadelphia spans three blocks of Market Street East and will offer 730,000 SF of retail, dining and entertainment after renovations are complete. In addition to the strong co-tenancy, the location provides strong daytime and nighttime population, dense office space and a growing residential neighborhood.

“With Shake Shack’s worldwide growth and established success, we thought it was the right opportunity to grab marketshare on the east side of Broad Street and complement the existing units already in the City of Philadelphia,” stated MSC Retail Guru, Joseph Raniszewski, who represented the tenant in the transaction.
