Lighthouse Writers Workshop
Hello, Writer!
We'll continue with the second part of 'The Regionalist' program during hour two of Friday 500 this week. There will be a three person panel representing the small publishing house called The History Press. The panel includes a commissioning editor, the Western Indie Rep., and a recently signed author of History Press.
Those of you in attendance will receive the HP proposal form, publishing brochure, marketing questionnaire, notes from authors, and an example of a completed marketing questionnaire.
Even though you cannot pitch your nonfiction book project during the hour due to time constraints, Becky, the editor will be giving out her contact info, as she is actively looking for new regional Colorado authors to sign.
Not a nonfiction author? No worries! This is a great opportunity for a writer of any genre to get a feel for the inner-workings of a small press.
BICHOK,
(Butt In Chair Hands On Keyboard)

Creative Curator

Reminder: Friday 500 takes place every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month, from 4:30 to 6:30 PM.
Also, here's a bit about The History Press:
The History Press brings a new way of thinking to book publishing—preserving and enriching community by empowering local history and culture enthusiasts to write local stories for local audiences. History Press books are useful resources for research and preservation, but it is their value as touchstones for community identity that drives us to publish works that national houses and university presses too often have ignored. Infused with local color, our books are highly readable, often brief and aimed at a general readership.
Since starting in 2004, History Press has published nearly two thousand of the highest quality local and regional titles from coast to coast. The Press offers authors a full-service, traditional publishing experience, from project inception and editorial assistance through design and printing and onto publicity and sales.
