AARON WATSON RETURNS TO TOURING AFTER LONG HIATUS DUE TO VOCAL REST
With Tour Dates Across the Country Throughout 2022 in Support of Unwanted Man Album Release
Nashville, Tenn. --  After a long road to recovery from a granuloma in his throat that left him unable to singoff the road from touring since Mid-April, and at times speechless as he sought treatment and therapy from specialists, Aaron Watson has finally been relieved of vocal rest and has returned to the road in full force with tour dates covering the country throughout 2022. See below for a full list of updated tour dates.
In over 20 years of his career, Watson has never before been forced to cancel a string of shows, yet he demonstrated grit and grace in the face of adversity, as the ailment hit him amid the release of his latest album, Unwanted Man. Now healthy, Watson is more eager than ever to return to the stage for a sensational summer.
"It was definitely a frustrating and scary time, especially in the beginning not knowing what was going on with my voice, but that something was definitely wrong,” Watson said of the challenging experience.  “I’m so grateful to have had the best care and prayers from the best fans to get me through these past few months.”
While Watson wasn't able to use his voice, his friends and fans spoke up across social media platforms with an overwhelmingly positive reaction to his current album, Unwanted Man, which takes the listener on a full circle journey from isolation and despair to loving redemption. Watson wrote and/or co-wrote all eleven songs on the albumshowcasing both his trademark love songs in “When I See You” and “Nothing On You” to his popular classic up-tempo romps with “Cheap Seats” and “Heck Of A Song.”
People.com exclusively premiered the highly anticipated album, Unwanted Man, featuring the new single, "Dancing Around the Truth" which is now available on all platforms HERE.
"I’m really excited to be back out on the road, playing music with the band and seeing all the fans. It feels really great to be on stage again and I’m looking forward to all the dates we have coming up performing across the country,” said Waston.
Watson's independent spirit and strong work ethic are symbolic of the western lifestyle; virtues which have taken him from humble honky-tonk roots to a bona fide fixture in the country music landscape. "I want to make the music that I am proud of and has no chains or restrictions, from my heart to the fans ears," Watson told Whiskey Riff in a recent podcast interview. Unwanted Man is expected to serve as a beacon of authenticity to country fans far and wide.

About Aaron Watson:
Aaron Watson’s career is perhaps summed up best by Forbes, who says he’s "one of country music’s biggest DIY success stories." For the past 20 years, Watson has achieved success on his own terms, hand-building a lauded career through songwriting, relentless touring and more than a dozen self-released albums. His independent Texas spirit and strong work ethic are emblematic of the western lifestyle; virtues which have taken him from humble honky-tonks of Texas to multiple sold-out tours around the world. In 2019 he released Red Bandana — "his most ambitious album yet" (Taste of Country) — whose 20 songs were hailed by The Boot as "a pure expression of his traditional country ethos.” This unprecedented acclaim follows Watson's previous album, Vaquero, whose Top 10 hit "Outta Style" earned a BMI Millionaire award, and The Underdog, the first independent album in the history of country music to top the Billboard Country Albums chart. With a dozen additional records under his belt, Watson is exceeding major-label-sized metrics while maintaining his independence, further galvanizing his "Texas country's reigning indie underdog" (Rolling Stone) brand. "There may be no more genuine singer-songwriter at the moment than Watson," says Texas Monthly, pointing to a self-made businessman, chart-topper, and road warrior whose authenticity has made him a country music staple.
