Sand & Steel:  Visions of Our Indiana Shore features artwork inspired by the beauty of the Indiana Dunes beginning in the early 20th century, the industry that followed and the balance struck between the two with the creation of the
Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore in 1966.
Artwork includes selections from the Brauer Museum of Art,  private and corporate collections along the South Shore and original posters and paintings from the
"Just Around the Corner" series of South Shore posters.
The exhibit celebrates the Indiana Bicentennial, the National Park Service Centennial and the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore’s 50th anniversary.
James Pringle Cook, Willow Crest, 1992, Oil on canvas diptych

Brauer Museum of Art’s Robert and Caroline Collings Endowment, the Brauer Museum of Art’s Brauer Endowment, Valparaiso University’s Cultural Arts Committee, and the Partners for the Brauer Museum of Art.

South Shore Arts' programs are provided with support from the Indiana Arts Commission, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
