When we faced store closure this past year, we reached out to the community that has always been the true strength of In Other Words.

When our community learned of our volunteer and financial needs, you opened your hearts. Your incredible outpouring of support with over 40 new volunteers, 6 new board members, and over $14,000 raised through our Indiegogo campaign was truly moving.

On November 8, the Board of Directors committed to stay open at least until December of next year. We are thrilled In Other Words will remain one of 11 feminist bookstores still in operation in North America and the last one open on the West Coast! However, our work is not done.

In order to ensure the future of In Other Words for years to come, we need your support.  This community center belongs to each of us.  That is why it is essential that you make your contribution today.  

Whether we are providing a safe space for feminist events, hosting free yoga and accessible movement classes, having reading and discussion groups, providing access to hundreds of feminist titles through our lending library and Feminist Archives … In Other Words owes its existence to people like you, who care about our work and are willing to support it.
