FSR Global Virtual Patient Summit:
Pain and Fatigue
Do you struggle with pain and/or fatigue as a result of sarcoidosis?

As part of the FSR Global Virtual Patient Summit, sessions will be dedicated to address these common symptoms. Each session will be hosted by an expert in sarcoidosis who published research covering these challenges. There will be Q&A's at the end of each session where you can submit your own questions to these experts (see more about these sessions below)!
Community chat rooms dedicated to managing pain and fatigue will also be part of the Summit. Here you can connect with fellow patients and caregivers to share your experience, and learn from one another!

Can't attend the Summit during July 30-31? The exclusive content will be available to attendees for 60 days after the event, so you can access all the sessions, chat boards, booths and resources at your leisure.

Pain Management Session

We are pleased to share that Dr. Marjolein Drent, a physician and researcher in sarcoidosis and interstitial lung disease, and member of FSR's Scientific Advisory Board, will be covering the topic of sarcoidosis-related pain.
Dr. Drent will share her presentation on the typical causes of sarcoidosis-related pain, such as small fiber neuropathy, as well as common treatments and pain management techniques available. Some patients with sarcoidosis may have small fiber neuropathy and not even know it. Dr. Drent’s presentation will cover the Small Fiber Neuropathy Screening List (SFNSL) which patients can take now to better understand whether they may be experiencing pain related to small fiber neuropathy. Developed by experts in sarcoidosis, this tool may be useful in discussing pain with your provider.
Fatigue Management

Dr. Divya Patel, a physician and researcher in sarcoidosis and interstitial lung disease, and member of FSR's Women of Color Clinical Advisory Committee, will cover the debilitating effects of fatigue due to sarcoidosis.
According to the World Association for Sarcoidosis and Other Granulomatous Disorders, “Fatigue is the most frequently described and globally recognized as a disabling symptom.” Dr. Patel will discuss the ways sarcoidosis can cause fatigue and what research suggests about decreasing chronic fatigue. She’ll also cover what options patients have, and what treatments might be available to help alleviate this chronic side effect of sarcoidosis.
