  • Who is eligible: MD, DO, PhD, or combined-degree programs in the United States who have completed at least two years by October 1, 2026
  • Research area: Geroscience and the Biology of aging

NOTE: Please review the materials carefully as the program has changed in 2026. Students now need to be nominated by their graduate school mentor, faculty member or other senior professional. Nominations are reviewed based on leadership potential rather than a research project.

  • Who is eligible: Non-profit organizations, public and private universities, colleges, laboratories and government agencies in North America (Canada, Mexico and the United States of America), the United Kingdom, and countries in the European Union
  • Amount of award: Up to $10,000

The Eweson Lecture series provides selected applicants with funding up to a maximum of $2,000 to cover travel expenses and meeting-related fees. To be eligibile for this award, you must:
  • Have received funding from AFAR, served on an AFAR grant review committee, or be a Nathan Shock Center Investigator or Nathan Shock Center Pilot Grantee.
  • Have been accepted as a speaker/presenter at an in-person meeting for an oral presentation.
  • Not have received support through the Eweson Lecture Series in the last three years
    Applications accepted on a rolling basis.
