I've been avoiding Mother's Day brunches for years. Although I knew I had a guardian angel that was watching over me, Mother's Day was always an unsettling reminder that she wasn't there physically to guide me through life. For years, my goal has been to build a community of others, who had also lost their mothers, so that we could still celebrate the memories of our mothers, but also share our common experiences and support one another. I was pretty young when my mom passed away, but I owe everything that I am today, and the strength that's carried me through life --to HER. I wish each and every mother out there, both those here to celebrate the day with us and those watching over us, a Happy Mother's Day!
