Slatery Named New Tennessee Attorney General 
The state Supreme Court unanimously named Herbert Slatery as the new Tennessee Attorney General. Currently chief legal counsel to Gov. Bill Haslam, Slatery was in a private practice in Knoxville with Egerton, McAfee, Armistead and Davis PC for 30 years. Slatery is a Knoxville native and earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Virgina and law degree from the University of Tennessee. 

Legal Sector Added 3,300 Jobs in August
The legal sector added 3,300 jobs in August, the largest monthly gain this year according to the ABA Journal. That brings the total number of legal sector jobs to 1.1 million, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. This also brings a gain of 3,200 jobs since the start of the year.
