Lighthouse Writers Workshop
Hello, Writer!
Humans are toolmakers and users. Try as you might, it is very difficult to go ten minutes without using some type of tool--be it a toothbrush or a computer, a bicycle or a cell phone. So, shouldn't our characters be as inundated with tools as we are? And what better way to hit home this point than by making some tools ourselves?
Darcee Freier, Lighthouse member and supervolunteer, has offered up her knowledge, equipment, and time to teach us the ins and outs of paper making. We are writers, after all, and writers use paper on a daily basis--whether while reading text or writing it.
By the end of this session then, with Darcee's guidance, each of us will have made two pieces of paper to take home, as well as written a scene or two accentuating our characters' abilities as toolmakers and users.
