Circuit Court Updates Database
The Davidson County Circuit Court is in the process of updating CaseLink, its public database of civil cases. According to the Nashville Post, beta testing is set to begin in August, with plans to introduce the new version before the end of the year. The update will improve the user experience as data can be accessed from mobile devices and multiple browsers. 
Chancellor McCoy Retires, Replaced by Bill Young
On Sept. 1, Chancellor Carol McCoy will retire after 20 years on the bench. The Tennessean reports that Gov. Bill Haslam has selected Bill Young, who served in Attorney General Herbert Slatery's office, to take her place. During his time with the attorney general, Young worked as a manager and soliciter general. Prior to that he worked in the private sector for hospital and healthcare companies.
Sheriff Fees Increase
A Sheriff Fee increase went into effect on July 1, 2016 in the Circuit Court Clerk Filing Fee schedule. Please refer to our website or click the following link to view or download the updated fee schedule in Adobe PDF format.
Nashville Predators Case Sent to Arbitration

The multi-million dollar lawsuit between the Nashville Predators hockey team and co-owner David Freeman has been sent to arbitration, per the Nashville Business Journal. At the request of the National Hockey League, Davidson County Chancellor Ellen Hobbs has placed the lawsuit under the supervision of NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman.
