Wintry weather is expected to arrive on Saturday, Jan. 24. Take steps now to stay safe and prepared during the cold conditions.
Cold Weather Safety Tips:

Dress in layers to stay warm.
- Stock up on emergency supplies for your home and car.
- Check the weather forecast before heading out.
- Check on elderly, ill, or disabled neighbors, friends, and family.
- Keep pets warm and dry.
- Prevent hypothermia by staying warm and dry and limiting time outdoors.
- Have extra water on hand in case pipes freeze or break.
- Avoid walking or driving on ice. Use non-scooping kitty litter or rock salt to improve traction on icy surfaces.

Due to an ongoing construction project at Cedar Grove Community Center, the 2026 Orange County Ag Summit is being moved to the Whitted Human Services Center located at 300 W. Tryon St., Hillsborough. The event will still take place on Monday, Feb. 16, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Please make sure you go to the updated located that day.

The program begins Wednesday, Feb. 25, and concludes with a graduation ceremony on Tuesday, April 21, at the Whitted Human Services Center in Hillsborough.
