February 2020
AVAILABLE NOW: Contributions exception reports
Every month you can access your agency’s contributions exception report that identifies reporting and enrollment errors, as well as members who have not been terminated. The report is available for a specific month or a series of months.
REMEMBER: Monthly Salary Contributions Reports should be submitted to TRSL within 15 calendar days after the month covered by the report.
Benefits of clearing exception reports each month:
  • Eliminate a backlog of edits due at end of fiscal year
  • Lower risk of members receiving reduced service credit
  • Avoid online prior year corrections and paying interest
  • Reduce possibility of return-to work overpayments
As errors are cleared, they are removed each time a new report is generated. You can check the date and time stamp in the upper left-hand corner to make sure you have the latest exception report.
For a list of common errors on this report and steps on how to clear the report, please refer to Employer Manual Index 4.0, pages 41–55.

Elections will be held this year for two active member positions on the TRSL Board of Trustees.
Information will soon be made available to members about candidate eligibility requirements and the election qualifying process. Members who are interested in serving on the TRSL Board and meet the requirements are encouraged to submit a letter of intent to TRSL to qualify as a candidate.

Superintendents, employees of colleges and universities, and members paid with school food lunch funds are not eligible for these positions. These groups each have their own representatives on the TRSL Board. Individuals who participate in the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP) are not members of TRSL's regular retirement plan, and therefore are ineligible to run or vote in TRSL Board elections.
More information about the 2020 TRSL Board of Trustees elections and candidate qualifying process is available on the Elections page of our website.

Need help researching questionable years/sick leave data?
Our Employer Services Specialists offer on-site research and data gathering visits to employers. During these visits, we work with agency contacts to research information needed to certify questionable years and/or sick leave data. Most of these visits focus on records stored on paper files, microfiche/microfilm, or other “hard copy” sources.
If your agency would like to utilize our services to help with questionable years and/or sick leave data, please contact one of our Employer Services Training Specialists listed below:
This service is provided free of charge to TRSL-reporting agencies.
