Prof. of English Priti Joshi will conclude her term as president of The Research Society for Victorian Periodicals (RSVP) in September. RSVP is an interdisciplinary and international association of researchers dedicated to the study of the nineteenth-century press from Britain and its colonies. Among the society's founders was Dr. Rosemary VanArsdel, distinguished professor emerita of English. This summer, 193 participants from around the world traveled to Trinity College Dublin for the society's annual conference, which centered on the theme of how unprecedented mass migrations and relocations during the 19th century were covered, debated, and imagined in the press.

Director, writer, and producer Scott Bateman ’86 was interviewed by 411Mania about his new film, 5002 Space Aliens. Bateman talked about the challenges of turning found footage into animation and the filmmakers who have influenced him.
"Honestly, the process of making these films, finding the footage and playing with it, is fun," Bateman said. "The hardest part is simply that it takes so much time to make that much animation! And of course, the hardest part of any indie film these days is getting it out into the world."

Grizz joined Puget Sound's incoming first-year students for a class photo on Karlen Quad to celebrate the end of Passages Orientation. The Class of 2030 includes students from 36 states and eight countries in addition to the United States, with 27% coming from Washington.
