Immersive Opportunities Open October
Students help shapeTAP/ExEd; Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month
Middle and Upper School students gathered on October 4 to share their ideas and perspectives to help shape meaningful hands-on TAP initiatives. They also spent time with their faculty advisors braistorming ways to take deep dives into curricular materials by way of field trips and other programs on and off campus for ExEd.
Deputy State Historian Nicolasa Chavez, who also serves as Curator at the Museum of International Folk Art in Albuquerque and is the author of The Spirit of Flamenco: From Spain to New Mexico, offered a special presentation at the end of the day to mark Hispanic Heritage Month. She discussed the history, food, and culture of New Mexico, highlighting flamenco music. Guitarist Luis Campos offered beautiful accompaniment, as attendees learned the specific beats that guide the Palmas hand-clapping technique in flamenco.

Student ID Cards Make Lunch Purchases Easy
Rather than having to look up each student's name to debit their account, we can now check students in to purchase lunch each day using the special barcode at the bottom of their new ID cards. If students lose or forget their cards, we can still pull them up manually and serve them lunch as well. This new system has dramatically improved the speed with which the line moves and lunch can be served. Lunch menus »
