Amber McBride, MFA ‘13  Longlisted for National Book Award

Amber McBride, MFA ’13, has once again been recognized by the National Book Awards, with The Leaving Room longlisted in the Young People’s Literature category. Her debut novel, Me (Moth), was a finalist in 2022. Winners will be announced during the live broadcast on November 19.

Two Alumni Named ‘New Faces of Indie Film’

Congratulations to Mariano Dongo '17 and Heather Landsman '24 for being named to Filmmaker Magazine’s "25 New Faces of Independent Film" list! Dongo was honored for his hybrid feature-documentary on NYC’s iconic Balthazar, while Landsman was recognized for The Best of Me and her upcoming feature You Have Been Disconnected.

Bobbi Brown ’79 Debuts Memoir ‘Still Bobbi’: New York Times Article

The beauty icon shares her journey from Illinois to entrepreneur success through trusting her instincts. Brown’s book tour brings her to Emerson on Monday, October 27. Purchase tickets.

Master Class Series Offers Access to Industry Luminaries

Emerson College Master Classes allow students to learn directly from alumni who excel in their professions. Alumni and friends who have shared their expertise with students have included: Vin Di Bona ’66 and Rob Katz; Max Mutchnick ’87; Dawn Steinberg ’83; Seth Grahame-Smith ’98 and Jared Bowen ’98. 

Alumni Producers Win Emmys for ‘Late Show’

Opus Moreschi ’00 and Ballard C. Boyd ’04 took home Emmy Awards on September 14, as producers of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, this year’s winner of Outstanding Talk Series. Also, many of our alumni went home with several awards at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, held September 6-7.

Emerson’s Encore Scholarship for Alumni

The Encore Scholarship is available to Emersonians continuing their education through Emerson’s graduate degrees and certificate programs. Qualified recipients are eligible for a $4,000 per term scholarship for full-time study or $2,000 per term for part-time.
