MORE INFO
Growing Future Leaders and a Garden at the Phyllis Wheatley Center
This summer has certainly looked different for the YWCA Phyllis Wheatley Center, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Staff was saddened to make the difficult decision to cancel the annual Summer Kids in Play Program, which serves 50 youth, ages 5-14, in a fun and learning filled setting during the summer.
However, staff were determined to still host our spring 2020 Reach Interns, as their experience had been cut-short with school being cancelled. Our Reach Interns, high school aged boys and girls, have been showing up three days a week and cleaning, cooking for neighbors, distributing produce donations from Beardsley Farms, tending to our own Community Garden and so much more! Having youth in the building this summer, even if only a handful, has brought about a small sense of normalcy to the YWCA Phyllis Wheatley Center.

Donation Request!

Due to our COVID-19 precautions at our locations, we are still unable to host volunteers or accept used in-kind donations.
However, many of our clients are in need of basic essentials. Check out our Amazon or Walmart wish-list today! Ordering online is an easy and touchless option for those looking to make a donation.
WISH LIST

Fresh Produce Donations to Clients in

Oak Ridge/Anderson County

Thanks to our friends at Society of St. Andrew and the Anderson County Family Justice Center Project, we have been able to gift our clients with multiple batches of fresh produce over the last three months. It's because of support from groups this this that we are able to provide essential food items to families in the Oak Ridge and Anderson County area!

July/August Club W Update

Due to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases in Knox County, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all Club W Health and Fitness activities. This cancellation includes the pool at the Downtown Knoxville location
We apologize for any inconvenience, but the health and safety of our clients, staff and community members is our top priority.
