Canvas
We’re excited to share that a series of Instructure-led Canvas training sessions is now available. These live sessions, led by Instructure trainers and designed specifically for UIC, cover essential topics to help you build, teach and manage courses effectively in Canvas. Training topics include Blackboard to Canvas, building your course in Canvas, teaching in Canvas, Canvas course design best practices, Canvas assignments, Canvas page design, Canvas discussions, accessibility basics in Canvas, Canvas new quizzes and item banks, Canvas grading and feedback, advanced accessibility in Canvas, Canvas outcomes, rubrics and learning mastery grade book and group work in Canvas.

Perusall
Join Perusall’s vendor-led session to discover how social annotation and interactive reading can enhance engagement in your course. The session will take place on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 10 a.m. and will be hosted on Zoom.

Learning Technology Solutions Learning Design office hours (new)
As part of the learning management system transition to Canvas, the Learning Technology Solutions Learning Design team will offer weekly office hours for faculty and staff. Meet one-on-one with an instructional designer to get help with Canvas course setup, using YuJa Panorama for accessibility remediation, organizing your course or addressing any questions related to teaching in the new learning management system. Updates to classroom IT/AV support
Beginning Jan. 12, 2026, Technology Solutions is centralizing Tier 1 classroom and AV support within the Service Desk to improve scalability and consistency. You’ll continue contacting support the same way as before. Visit the Learning Technology Solutions support team page for more information.
Also starting Jan. 12, classroom equipment lending will move from the Learning Technology Solutions Support Office in Stevenson Hall to the Technical Helpdesk in the Daley Library Idea Commons. Instructors will pick up and return equipment at the new location beginning in spring 2026. Visit the Technical Helpdesk page for more information.
