Dear Colleagues:
I write to share information about today’s meeting of the Board of Trustees.
This morning, the Board conducted an organizational meeting, which is held every two years to elect officers and appoint the chairs of the Board committees.
The Board began the meeting by welcoming Dollyne Sherman, the newest member of the Board. Ms. Sherman was appointed to the Board last month by Governor Mike Braun. Governor Braun also reappointed Mike McDaniel and Julie Griffith to new terms to the Board, each effective through Dec. 31, 2029.
During the meeting, Brian Gallagher was elected to a two-year term as chair of the Board of Trustees. Ms. Griffith was elected as vice chair of the Board, Mr. McDaniel was re-elected as secretary, and Henry Hall was elected as assistant secretary.
Several trustees were also appointed as chairs of Board committees. Ms. Griffith was reappointed as the chair of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee; Mark Hardwick was reappointed as the chair of the Audit and Compliance Committee; Craig Dobbs was appointed to serve as the chair of the Employee Development and Wellbeing Committee; and Mr. Hall was reappointed to serve as the chair of the Finance, Facilities, and Planning Committee.
I am grateful to our trustees for their leadership, their counsel, and their steadfast support. Their commitment to our University and our vital mission is made manifest in their dedicated service.
