Nomination forms are due by 5pm on Friday, March 3, 2023. An ad hoc committee will then review all nominations and make recommendations on the recipients. Thank you for taking time to recognize the outstanding contributions of our Penguin community!

FAFSA & Scholarship Application Deadlines are Approaching!

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the upcoming 2023-2024 award year became available on October 1, 2022. If you have not yet done so, we encourage you to file the FAFSA to be considered for federal and state aid. Log in to studentaid.gov to complete the FAFSA application. The priority filing date for campus based aid (CBA) consideration is February 15, 2023 so don’t delay! The FAFSA is required for CBA consideration and requires submission for each award year.

The online YSU Foundation Scholarship Application for the 2023-2024 award year is also available to complete. Go to ysu.edu/ysufapp to apply. The online YSU Foundation Scholarship Application allows students to apply for scholarships using one application. A tutorial video for completion of the YSU Foundation Scholarship Application is available to assist you from the financial aid homepage (ysu.edu/finaid). Please complete the online application by February 1, 2023 to receive full consideration.

Contact the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at 330-941-3506 for an appointment. Financial Aid Counselors are available during walk-in hours between 10am and 12pm or 2pm-4pm Monday through Friday for assistance with the FAFSA and the YSU Foundation Scholarship Application without an appointment.

Safe Zone Training

The Division of Student Affairs is proud to present two Safe Zone trainings during spring semester, facilitated by Dr. Carrie Jackson.

Safe Zone trainings are opportunities to learn about LGBTQ+ identities, gender and sexuality, and examine prejudice, assumptions, and privilege. This semester's trainings will take place in Kilcawley Center Room 2068 on Friday, January 20, 2023, from 1-3pm, and on Friday, March 31, 2023, from 1-3pm.

On Tuesday, students participated in "The Price is Right" College Edition as part of Welcome Week. The event took place in the Hub in Kilcawley Center, and was presented by Student Activities and Pepsi. Students Carter Cook and Faith Marscio hosted with Hailey Zelinsky showcasing the prizes.
