University Union during fall
   FALL BREAK
It’s finally time for Fall Break! No classes Nov. 20-26, and UNT will be closed Nov. 23-24. Here are some reminders before we head into next week:
  • Several dining halls close Saturday, Nov. 18, and will stay closed for the break. Some retail restaurants will remain open during part of the break, but they will all operate on special holiday schedules. Review UNT Dining’s Fall Break hours for more details.
  • If you plan to stay in a residence hall during the break, be sure to log into the eHousing portal before the break starts and complete the stay form with the dates you plan to be there.
  • There won’t be an issue of UNT Weekly next Wednesday, Nov. 22, but it’ll be back in your inbox Wednesday, Nov. 29.
Stay safe and we hope you enjoy your time off!

   RICCO ETHICS SCHOLARSHIP
If you’ll be a returning student for the Fall 2024 semester, consider applying for the Ricco Ethics Scholarship. The competition is open for undergraduate and graduate students to promote intellectual debate and discussion on ethics related to students’ areas of study.
It requires a 1,000-word essay about the chosen case study to be considered for the first-place $5,000 award for both undergrad and graduate categories. In most years there also will be a substantial second-place award in the undergrad category.
Submissions are due by Friday, Dec. 1. Look over the eligibility requirements and guidelines to learn more. Please email studentsuccess@unt.edu with any specific questions.

   HEALTHY HOLISTIC HABITS
As the busy holiday season approaches, we want to remind you to prioritize your overall wellbeing. Explore UNT’s online wellness resources and read about the nine dimensions of the Wellness Wheel to learn how to have a holistic approach to your wellbeing.
Check out this seven-question quiz to see what your wellness type is and how you handle your health through nutrition habits, work out routines and your self-care regimen. Send a screenshot of your results along with the Wellness Wheel dimensions you think your type falls under to untweekly@unt.edu for a chance to win a UNT T-shirt.

   GREENSGIVING GATHERING
You’re invited to the second annual Greensgiving! This student-led event is from 5 to 8 p.m. tomorrow, Nov. 16, at the UNT CoLab and will feature crowdfunding campaigns benefiting a variety of social causes.
Enjoy the cocktail vibe with light snacks, request your favorite songs from the live DJ and bid on the silent auction items from 5 to 7 p.m. Help fund the campaigns and celebrate the students’ entrepreneurial efforts on behalf of the greater community.

   TOYS FOR TICKETS
Transportation Services is making paying off parking citations easier this holiday season. Donate non-violent, unwrapped toys through the Toys for Tickets program benefiting the Santa’s Helpers toy drive and receive double the price of the toys to use on up to three current citations (with some exceptions).
Just bring the toys along with the purchase receipts to the office in the Highland Street Garage between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, by Dec. 1. Clear those citations by donating to a good cause!

Beginning Monday, Nov. 20, you can visit the second floor of the ESSC for assistance with Admissions and Student Financial Services or to talk with the Student Money Management program team. The Registrar’s office and University Cashiering and ID Cards will continue to operate on the first floor.
