» Group Invite: As quartet Little Big Town sang their hit song "Pontoon" last Friday (10/3) night on the Grand Ole Opry, they suddenly heard a fifth voice chime in at the end on the song's "motorboatin" hook. They turned around to see Reba McEntire strolling onstage. "I know the Grand Ole Opry is very important to y'all, because this is the first place you guys played together as a group in 1999," McEntire said. "Little Big Town, would y'all like to be a member of the Grand Ole Opry?" After a collective "yes" from the band, LBT's Karen Fairchild said, "Thank you, Grand Ole Opry! We will try to make you proud!" LBT will be formally inducted Oct. 17 by Vince Gill. Watch their invitation here.

» Future's So Bright: Sporting sunglasses and serious attitude, the cover of Garth Brooks' Man Against Machine was revealed last Friday (10/3), along with the news that the album will be in stores Nov. 11. "Music has always been a reflection of where mankind is at the time," says Brooks, explaining the title. "For 14 years I have watched heart and soul, dreams and individualism fighting for their very existence in a world of increasing technology. This album is a reminder to all those who dream, work, and fight for what they believe; do not give up your vision." Pre-order the album here. Also last week, tickets went on sale for Brooks' Minneapolis tour stop. He'll play one show Nov. 6 and 13; and two shows Nov. 7, 8, 14 and 15 for a total of 10 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, one more than he played at the same venue in 1998. Get tickets here.

» Blondes Bond: It's official: Blondes do have more fun. And they're more likely to be chosen to tour with Miranda Lambert. Lambert chose fellow fair-haired singers RaeLynn, Sunny Sweeney, Ashley Monroe and Danielle Bradbery to be her special guests on the 2015 Certified Platinum Tour. She made one exception – opening act Justin Moore. Who knows, Lambert may have plans to "initiate" him on the tour with some tasteful platinum highlights.

» On the GO: Imagine walking down the street on any given day, and out of nowhere a singer/songwriter busts out his acoustic guitar and plays an impromptu song. That's what happened in the streets of Annapolis, MD near Ft. Meade recently, when Dierks Bentley showed up to sing an acoustic rendition of "I Hold On" for unsuspecting pedestrians as a part of Vevo's GO Show. Vevo started the series five years ago to offer "unpredictable and surprise performances from superstar artists in unlikely locations." "This town is really special," said Bentley, "so we wanted to do our GO Show here. We popped in at a really old-school downtown spot. My dad was in the army and I always had a lot of respect for him and for folks in the military for putting their country before themselves and that’s exactly what this song is about." Watch here.

» Acts Of Valor: Country artists are always ready to salute the men and women in our armed forces – and this fall, two of our biggest stars are doing just that. Carrie Underwood and Zac Brown Band are part of the lineup for The Concert For Valor, which honors our nation's veterans and their families. The concert will air on HBO live Nov. 11 from the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Others appearing include Dave Grohl, Eminem, Bruce Springsteen, Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks. See the full lineup here.

» 7FOR7 Lands: Lady Antebellum wrapped up their week-long 7FOR7 campaign – in which they fulfilled seven wishes for seven fans in seven days – with aspiring music journalist Shelby Parker. The trio arranged for a mentorship with Country Weekly's Editor-In-Chief and granted her a red carpet interview at the Nashville premiere of The Best Of Me, among other gifts. See Parker's surprise here and watch all 7FOR7 clips here.

» Gift That Keeps Giving: Bottle of Jack Daniel's? Casino gift card? Application to adopt a child? While those might be appropriate (or weird) gifts to give Scotty McCreery for his 21st birthday, what he really wants is his fans to make a donation to the 12.14 Foundation. McCreery serves as a National Goodwill Ambassador for the foundation, which plans to build a multi-purpose performing arts and education center of historical significance in Newtown, CT. Since the 2012 shooting tragedy, McCreery has made several visits to meet with the families. "I would like to encourage the fans to donate to the 12.14 Foundation," said McCreery. "Together we can support a great organization doing positive things in a town that is still recovering. Let's help them reach their goal of building a state-of-the art performing arts and education center. That would be the best birthday gift I could receive." Donate here.
