Major Infrastructure Investment Set to Transform SR 400 |
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) made a major announcement last week for big changes coming to SR 400! The $4.6B project will add two toll lanes in each direction from the North Springs MARTA station to McGinnis Ferry Road, and one lane further north to McFarland Parkway. With traffic volumes expected to increase by 70,000+ vehicles per day by 2046, these lanes will offer drivers a faster commute option. This project also will support a new bus-rapid transit (BRT) line operated by MARTA!
The GA 400 express lanes project will be built by SR400 Peach Partners, a group of engineering and construction companies and is expected to open in 2031. As this project progresses, it will play a crucial role in supporting the economic growth and mobility of the metro Atlanta region, setting the stage for a more connected future.
