September marked the end of the switch over to the school year and a new term of Individual Placements for WisCorps here at Upham Woods. We are happy to host 2 individual placements this year!
In September our class of Master Naturalist's finished their programs and are now certified to volunteer at Upham Woods and elsewhere in education/interpretation, stewardship and citizen science programs! was filled with incredible events and memorable experiences!
September kicked off with a break for Labor Day to refresh our staff and then welcoming back our Archery Club offering, a Natural Resources Foundation Field Trip, North Shore Country Day School, outreach with Transfer Transitions at Devil's Lake, Gibraltar Secondary School, Think Academy, Pardeeville, and Savanna Oaks Middle School in addition to some new conference groups and 4-H Arts Camp Counselor Training.
Starting just last Monday, September 25 we welcomed a WisCorps roving crew which is helping to rehabilitate the trails of Blackhawk Island which we fundraised for during the day of the Badger. Their two weeks of work on the island will The work on these trails will increase our access to the beloved caves and more!
