Dear Okemo Instructors,
I hope everyone has been able to get outside and enjoy this beautiful New England summer. Although we are technically still in mid-summer, the temps were in the 40s this morning when I woke up and I actually had to put the heat on in my car! Winter will be here before you know it and we have been busy at work preparing. I think I can speak for everyone in that we are all looking forward to a fresh start this year. It seems like Covid-19 as we know it is behind us, but certainly not gone for good. With the 22-23 season fast approaching, it is our goal to be fully staffed, with all of our lifts, trails, F&B outlets, and rental and retail outlets in full operation and we are doing everything we can to see that through. Our number one priority this summer is focused on hiring new employees. Our guests made it clear that they want to come to Okemo and it is up to us to accommodate this guest demand. We all know that in order to provide the guest experience and employee experience that we are striving for will take many new employees. I am happy to say we are off to a strong start and the number of applicants looks very positive.
Our SRS products go live on our website tomorrow, 8/16/22. Our guests can begin booking group and private lessons for the coming winter. To coincide with guests planning their winter, we also like to plan from our end and determine how many returning staff we will be expecting. See below for the survey.
We will touch base with everyone again in two weeks and I look forward to seeing everyone soon,
Steve

Effective July 19, 2022, Vail Resorts is removing the COVID-19 vaccine as a condition of employment. While this will no longer be a condition of employment, we continue to believe that the COVID-19 vaccine is the best way to end this pandemic. Vail Resorts strongly recommends that all of our team members get vaccinated and stay up-to-date on boosters. Also, all employees are still required to fill out their daily health screening before arriving at the mountain.
