Interim Meeting is June 8th |
BYM Interim Meeting will be held on June 8th in-person at Goose Creek Friends Meeting and online via Zoom. The June Interim Meeting is our last meeting prior to Annual Sessions in July/August. This Interim Meeting includes a first full reading of the draft 2025 budget, a report from Youth Programs, and more. Meeting for Worship for the Conduct of Business will begin at 12:30pm, and lunch will be served beforehand. The General Secretary is behind in circulating the reminder about agenda items and documents, so we are extending the original deadlines provided to all Committee Clerks last fall, as follows:
- May 17 - Agenda Items due to IMclerk@bym-rsf.org
- May 30 - Documents & Advance Reports due to GenSec@bym-rsf.org.
The Interim Meeting Clerk requests that Friends email him directly and separately for each item they want to put on the agenda - even if you have previously discussed its inclusion on the agenda with him.

FGC E-Retreat: Weaving a Wider Welcome Starts May 29
|
Do our meetings truly reflect all the faces of God among our members and attenders? FGC has heard from many Friends that the answer is often "no." Many meetings wonder why their newcomers stop coming after a few visits– especially LGBTQ folks, families with young children, and People of Color. In this eRetreat, Friends will explore how newcomers experience welcome, mistakes meetings make with newcomers, and what approaches to welcoming have worked in FGC meetings.

Continuing Revolution 2024: Restorative Justice as Spiritual Practice, June 7-10
|
This retreat is an annual gathering of young adults (ages 18-35) seeking to connect their spiritual, political, and interpersonal lives. You can join from one of three in-person “hubs” (in DC, Philadelphia or Boston) or online. This year we will focus on restorative justice (RJ), an approach to justice that seeks to repair harm and address the root causes of the actions perpetrating harm. You will learn about historical and contemporary restorative justice efforts. Through workshops and spiritual grounding exercises, you will gain tools for practicing restorative justice in their own communities.
