Interested in Being a Tournament Official at the 2022 Nationals?
|
The National Tournament could not run without the generous support of our coach volunteers who serve as tournament officials! If you are interested in serving as a tournament official, even if you have served in this role in the past, please register your interest by March 18. We are looking for officials to work on our tab, event, and tournament administration teams for the 2022 National Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky!

Qualify Your Districts-Eligible Students to the National Tournament
|
Do you have students who did not qualify for the National Tournament through your district tournament? The NSDA Last-Chance Qualifier is their opportunity for another chance to attend the 2022 National Tournament! Students must be districts-eligible but do not need to have attended districts to participate; schools must have had at least one entry at districts. Participation is FREE, and all National Tournament main events and Big Questions will be offered. Enter up to four of your school’s students in each event for a chance to be a top-placing competitor at the Last-Chance Qualifier and earn a spot at the National Tournament! Only Two More Free Springboard Online Practice Opportunities
|
Your team is invited to join fellow speech and debate students across the nation for a variety of free, after-school, online practice sessions through our Springboard Series. Students receive written feedback and ranks just like at a live tournament. Bonus, students who are NSDA members will earn tournament points for participating! There is no membership requirement to participate. This is an excellent opportunity for any team to practice their performance in front of a live audience pre-competition and receive essential feedback and experience to grow their confidence and performance. Thanks to the generosity of The Julia Burke Foundation, the NSDA is excited to add a series of four webinars this April! Topics range from How to Compete in Pro Con Challenge to learning the ins and outs of judging Congressional Debate and more. The Springboard Educational Webinar Series is free to all, but registration is required. Check out the dates, details, and reserve your spot today.

| Needing financial assistance to travel to Nationals?
|
The William Woods Tate, Jr., Memorial Fund was designed to help students attend the National Speech & Debate Tournament. The Tate Fund will continue to provide financial assistance to schools who otherwise would be unable to attend the National Tournament. For the 2022 National Tournament, the NSDA is proud to pledge $100,000 to schools to create a more equitable National Tournament experience. The application will be open and available March 15. More information is coming soon!
