Policing Los Angeles Forum: Is the Sheriff’s Power Unlimited? The newest edition of the Policing Los Angeles Forum series will convene from 12-1:30 p.m. today, Monday, Feb. 22 to discuss the nature of the constitutional sheriff’s movement, in which sheriffs claim they are entitled to both interpret and enforce the law as a sovereign. Constitutional sheriffs are associated with racially discriminatory policing. Speakers slated to address the issue are Jessica Pishko, journalist, The Appeal; Robert L. Tsai, professor of law, Boston University Law School; Anthony O’Rourke, Joseph W. Belluck and Laura L.
