May Faculty Spotlight: Andrew Denney
Andrew Denney, Ph. D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminology & Justice. He is entering his third year at Loyola, his sixth year as a professor, and his seventh year teaching online. His research focus centers around institutional and community corrections in addition to sex offenses and offenders.
“One of the things that I enjoy most about teaching in our online BCJ and MCJ programs is that I get to be exposed to students from many different backgrounds. For example, I’ve had students with extensive careers in law enforcement, the military, and even corporate America. Because of these varied career and life experiences, it always makes for engaging class discussions no matter the topic that is discussed. It is these discussions that make each class and the BCJ and MCJ programs as a whole so special.”
Each issue we will feature an online student or faculty/staff member who embodies the Ignatian ideals of faith, truth, justice, and service in our online community. If you'd like to nominate someone, please contact ssconlinega@loyno.edu to share who and why you think deserves to be in the spotlight.
