I am excited to share this monthly employee newsletter which will provide important information and updates for all employees, including faculty, staff, graduate assistants and student workers. HROE is transforming the way we operate! Save the date! Living Well’s inaugural Field Day for all Texas A&M University benefits-eligible employees on the main campus is set for March 31. Hosted at Penberthy Rec Sports Complex at our main campus in College Station, this event can also be hosted by remote and branch campuses as well as those on main campus who cannot compete in-person through the Build Your Own (BYO) Field Day. If you are not certain about participating, you can still benefit! Interact with and cheer on your colleagues as they compete instead. More details, including team registration and how to join in as we build camaraderie among colleagues near and far, is now available online.

Uniform Hiring Dates Now in Place |
To help streamline and enhance the hiring and onboarding process for new employees, the Division of Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness (HROE) has established uniform hiring dates. Effective Feb. 1, all offers of employment will reflect either the 1st or 16th of the respective month as their employment date. Additional information, including a full calendar listing of this year’s uniform hiring dates, is available online through talent management.

Performance Management for Staff |
Performance Management is about aligning an employee’s goals, competencies, behaviors and development plans to successfully accomplish the university’s mission. The annual performance review period for staff (non-faculty) employees will begin April 1, 2023. Now is an excellent time for managers to work with employees, review the assigned position description in Workday and prepare for the formal evaluation process. Employees may access W-2 forms online in Workday via Single Sign-On (SSO). Use the step-by-step guide for detailed instructions regarding SSO access, W-2s released prior to 2018, paper W-2s and more.

Flexible Work Arrangements |
Texas A&M University supports the use of flexible work arrangements which benefit employees and the university. Flexible work arrangements include alternate work location arrangements (AWL) and flexible work schedules. The business processes are now live in Workday. Note that not all positions may lend themselves to remote work or flexible schedules. Please be sure to review the AWL guidelines and training, and visit with your supervisor prior to submitting a request.

All employees should regularly update the Work Contact Information section in Workday to facilitate the communication of official university business. Employees should use their work phone number and work email address in the Work Contact Information section.
