Help Keep Us Safe ... Testing and Flu Shot Reminders
Stony Brook University continues to maintain its safety record, and remains one of the safest environments around, thanks to our testing, vaccine, masking and other protocols to battle the spread of COVID-19. (
See the dashboard.) Important reminders to help us keep COVID and flu virus counts low this season:

Testing: This week, fully vaccinated West Campus employees with last names A-E test. Next week (week of November 12) it’s employees with last names F-L. See the full testing schedule here, including new testing availability outside normal business hours from the University Police Department (T/Th, 6pm - 10 pm and F, 6 am - 10 am).

Employees who are not vaccinated, or haven’t shared their vaccination status, must continue testing weekly.

We’re Stronger Together with the Arts! Yes We Were, Yes We Are ...
Thanks to those who joined us, or helped orchestrate, our most recent Stronger Together event last week (Wednesday, October 27), centered on cultural activities and venues available right on campus. Whether you could join us or not, read more about how ‘We’re Stronger Together with the Arts’ here. Special appreciation goes to the Office of the Provost, Marketing and Communications, and the Wang Center, Staller Center and Zuccaire Gallery for making it happen.

Some Events You May Want To Check Out This Week
WolfieTank Tonight at 6:30 pm … Come in-person or join us on Zoom, where there will be a live stream. Like the popular TV show Shark Tank, ‘Wolfie Tank’ presents a unique opportunity for members of the Stony Brook community to showcase their talents by presenting ideas to an esteemed panel of judges.

Diwali celebrations ... There’s still time to take part in week-long celebrations of this national holiday, which is also one of the most important festivals of the year in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Guyana and many other countries. This year’s week-long celebration includes lavish Diwali meals at dining locations throughout campus.

Vaccine or Negative Test Result Required for SBUH Visits
As we’ve been communicating, in order to continue to keep our community safe, all visitors to Stony Brook University Hospital need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination, or a negative COVID-19 test, within 72 hours of the visit. See the full updated SBUH visiting policy, including details on this requirement and exceptions, here.
