OD Network Annual Conference

April 2016
We are seeking members to serve on the 2017 Nominating Committee
The purpose of the Nominating Committee is to support the 2017 Board election process. The charter of the committee includes recruiting and creating a slate of qualified, diverse candidates and presenting a ballot of strong committed candidates who are ready to serve the OD Network in its mission.
The Nominating Committee work will involve several virtual committee meetings, outreach to potential board candidates, and 1-2 interview discussions with those nominated. Most of this would occur during May, June and July.
2016 OD Network Annual Conference Student Papers
Are you a current student or recent graduate of an OD focused graduate program? If so, OD Network has an exciting opportunity for you to participate in our annual conference. We are currently accepting student proposals to be considered for inclusion in our dedicated student showcase sessions. Students have the opportunity to prepare a full length interactive session, a short TED Talk style presentation, or a proposal for a poster. We know that preparing a proposal can be intimidating (not to mention time consuming!), but as Corrie Voss, a doctoral candidate at Bowling Green State University, can tell you, the benefits make it a rewarding experience. Applications are due April 18.
April Member Spotlight: Dr. Steven Goodwin
Dr. Steven Goodwin, President of TurningWest
I am the president of TurningWest, a national consulting firm specializing in organizational and leadership development. Through more than 30 years as an experienced leader and via my doctoral work in organizational development and leadership focused on turning around underperforming organizations, I have acquired expertise in creating healthy organizations and stronger leaders.
I help clients by translating first-order research into immediately practical applications. I am passionate about helping others change the world by guiding them to intentionally build an organizational vehicle to release people to accomplish their dreams.
I am also a perpetual cheerleader for personal and organizational transformation, and a consummate learner who reads rapaciously anything and everything he can get his hands on.
Knowledge Workers' Tool Room
OD Network members have access to OD models and tools thanks to OD professional Fred Nickols.
Nickols calls his site the Knowledge Workers' Tool Room, but most of what you will find there are the models and tools that you need to do OD, either internally or externally.
Nickols has created and assembled upwards of 50 of the tools and models that OD professionals need to do the work. You will discover everything there from his Change Acceptance Cycle to Six Theories of Motivation to a Stakeholder Scorecard to a Strategy-to-Results matrix. Behind most of the models, you will find a one-page description of the model and how it works.
OD Practitioner
The latest issue of the OD Practitioner, OD Network’s quarterly peer-reviewed journal, is currently available! Access is included as a member benefit and is solely available to members and subscribers. Login is necessary to view current as well as back issues of the OD Practitioner.
The spring issue of OD Practitioner, "Co-Constructing Organizational and Leadership Narratives," covers topics such as: developing network era organizations, measuring the effectiveness of a global leadership development program, and re-authoring and co-authoring organizations.
For a sneak peak, please read “Reinventing Your Company for the Networked Era” written by Les Martel and Jeff Loehr.
