   PROP 5 PASSES CREATING TUF
With 95% of Texas polls reporting, 66% of Texas voters have approved Proposition 5, creating the Texas University Fund. The $3.9 billion permanent endowment will ensure sustainable funding for eligible universities, including UNT, that don't receive benefits from the Permanent University Fund. President Smatresk calls this an exciting and historic moment for UNT.
"TUF will help us accelerate our research innovation, keep more of our top talent in Texas, elevate our national rankings, and propel UNT to greater national prominence," he says.
