Entrepreneurship is celebrated among all majors at Old Dominion University, with students from across the school recognized for their innovative ideas during the second annual Opportunity Discovery Competition.
Co-hosted by ODU’s Strome College of Business and Strome Entrepreneurial Center, the finals of the 2025 ODU Opportunity Discovery Competition were held on Thursday, Feb. 27.
This Shark Tank-style competition aims to catalyze an entrepreneurial eco-system among ODU students. Five selected finalist teams gave 10-minute presentations to a panel of judges, followed by 15 minutes of questioning.

1st Place, winning $2000
Moj — The publication of a Japanese manga-style comic book that emphasizes mental fortitude, self-reflection, and learning to grow with others.

Perplexed B — A vintage clothing business aiming to make it easier to shop sustainably, think creatively, and find your personal style through a curated selection of secondhand clothes.

UmbrellUs — The design and implementation of community umbrella stations so that people have the opportunity to better protect themselves from the elements.
