Read the Board Meeting Agenda

We invite you to read the agenda for the NSDA Board of Directors meeting March 17-18. Please feel free to email any comments or questions to board@speechanddebate.org. Feedback will be compiled and presented to the Board for consideration. 

Congress Legislation Due April 1

Each district can submit one or two items of legislation (preferably one bill and one resolution) to be considered for use during the National Congress. Encourage your Congressional Debate qualifiers/programs to craft legislation for this purpose! Legislation must be formatted using NSDA Templates. District chairs can submit their district's legislation by logging into Tabroom.com, clicking the name of their district under “Institutions,” then selecting the “Nationals” button.

Celebrate Excellence with District Leader Commendations

District chairs can submit District Leader Commendations for evaluation via the District Awards Reporting form. These awards recognize non-chair committee members in your district including committee members, other coaches, administrators, parents, or volunteers. District Leader Commendations, and all other district award winners, are due April 16.

Phonetic Pronounciations in Tabroom.com

Encourage your district's coaches to enter phonetic pronunciations of their students' names on their Tabroom.com roster! Coaches can click the "Competitors" tab, select a student's name, and enter the pronunciation of their name. When it's time to read student names for awards, tournament directors can go to Results > Reports > Awards Script to view the phonetic pronunciations!

Upcoming Tabroom.com Webinars

Is your district using Tabroom.com for its district tournament? Be sure to mark your calendar to attend our District Tournament Tabroom.com Set-Up Using NSDA Campus webinar on Monday, March 15 at 5:00 p.m. CT. This webinar, led by Rachel Mauchline and Bro. John McGrory, will cover district tournament set up in Tabroom.com. By the end of the webinar, attendees will be able to set up and run a district tournament on Tabroom.com, purchase and set up NSDA Campus rooms, and use NSDA Campus to facilitate live rounds at the district tournament.

All coaches are also invited to join Tabroom.com experts Ameena Amdahl-Mason and Greg Malis for the Using Online Tournament Features in Tabroom.com on Tuesday, March 30 at 6:30 p.m. CT to learn about using online tournament features in Tabroom.com. By the end of the webinar, attendees will be able to set up and run an online tournament on Tabroom.com using a variety of different methods, including asynchronous rounds, NSDA Campus rooms, and synchronous rounds using an external service like Zoom or Classrooms.Cloud.
