Q3 Plans - Please Respond
Please don't forget to complete your survey, indicating your instructional preference for your child for the 3rd Quarter. The survey was sent out on Monday via email. You may also click HERE for the survey link. The survey closes Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020, at 5pm.
Some reminders, if you select in-person instruction
FACE MASKS: Masks are required at all times for all students 1) at the bus stop, 2) on the bus, and 3) in the school building unless it is a designated time for eating or drinking. Failure to comply will result in a student being moved from in-person instruction to virtual instruction.
COVID CONTACT/SYMPTOMS: Students cannot attend school if they 1) have COVID-19, 2) have had close contact with anyone who has COVID-19, or 3) have any COVID-related symptoms: fever (100.4 and above), sore throat, congestion/runny nose, headache, nausea/vomiting/diarrhea, fatigue/muscle or body aches, cough, difficulty breathing, loss of taste/smell.
Click HERE for a symptom decision tree and additional information about isolating and quarantining following a positive test or close contact.

Returning to Instruction Following Winter Break
As we did after Thanksgiving Break, all classes districtwide will be VIRTUAL ONLY Monday, Jan. 4, 2021 to Friday, Jan. 8, 2021 the first week back after Winter Break.
For families who choose in-person instruction, those students will transfer from virtual instruction to in-person instruction starting Monday, Jan. 11, 2021. The in-person bell time/instruction schedule is as follows. Please take note of the release time.
  • Schools that start at 7:10am will release at 1:07pm
  • Schools that start at 8:05am will release at 2:02pm
  • Schools that start at 8:15am will release at 2:12pm
  • Schools that start at 9:10am will release at 3:07pm
  • Schools that start at 9:20pm will release at 3:17pm
Depending on the results of the survey, the majority of middle and high schools and some elementary schools will likely be on an A/B schedule, where half of the students will be in-person on Monday and Tuesday, and the other half will be in-person Wednesday and Thursday. Please check with your school leader for details.
SLSO's Discover Your Instrument
Children in grades K-5 are invited to register now for Discover Your Instrument, an entertaining and enriching activity with musicians of the St Louis Symphony Orchestra.

Consolidation Plan Update
Prior to its regular meeting on Dec. 8, 2021, the Board of Education and Dr. Adams held a virtual Town Hall to answer questions related to the proposed Consolidation Plan.
Per the plan, the following schools would close after the 2020-2021 school year:
  • Clay Elementary
  • Cleveland NJROTC Academy
  • Dunbar Elementary
  • Fanning Middle School
  • Farragut Elementary
  • Ford Elementary
  • Hickey Elementary
  • Monroe Elementary
  • Northwest Academy of Law
  • Sumner High School
The plan would not impact seniors, and accommodations would be made for juniors to be able to still graduate from their current high school. The NJROTC program would be moved to another site.
Additionally, Carnahan High School of the Future would transition — over a three year period — from a high school back to a middle school.
The Board is scheduled to vote on the proposal on Tuesday, Dec. 15, and set an additional meeting on Monday, Dec. 14, at 6:30pm for additional discussion. Both meetings can be watched at www.youtube.com/saintlouispublicschools.
