Resources to Support Mental Health Wellness |

It’s common for faculty and staff to experience stress, anxiety, and grief in different areas of their lives. Experiencing financial stress, caregiver stress, loss of a family member, pressure from research and work expectations, tenure and promotion preparation, and more – all while working a full-time job with its own challenges is difficult. You are not alone. Here is a list of resources to help you navigate these challenges.

Philosophy Program Awards T Satre Scholarship for 2025 |
Philosophy received an impressive number of outstanding applications for the T Satre Scholarship this year, and the department is excited to announce the 2025 recipients, Kelly Hampton and Allison Bennett. Dr. Meagher, who has had the privilege of working with these students, describes their remarkable work.

| Dr. J. Fuller Inducted into the Texas Institute of Letters |
On March 1, Dr. J. Bruce Fuller (Director, TRP: The University Press of SHSU) was inducted into the Texas Institute of Letters, a distinguished honor society established in 1936 to celebrate Texas literature and recognize distinctive literary achievement.

The TIL’s elected membership consists of the state’s most recognized and serious writers of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, journalism, songwriting, and scholarship. The membership includes winners of the MacArthur Fellowship, Man Booker Prize, Pulitzer Prizes in drama, fiction, and nonfiction, as well as prizes awarded by PEN, and dozens of other regional and national award and grant-giving institutions.

The Measure is the CHSS undergraduate research journal that invites you to share the innovative and insightful scholarly papers and posters you've worked on this academic year.
Research created in Spring 2025 is due for submission by May 31, 2025.

Preview@SAM events provide high school students, transfer students, and their guests an opportunity to experience education and campus life at Sam Houston State University. These events include academic presentations specific to one of our academic colleges. Guests will also receive a guided campus tour and will be able to visit with many of our student service departments including: Residence Life, Financial Aid, Admissions, Advising, and many others.
