Partners For Kids Region Names Changing
The Partners For Kids Data Governance Committee has recommended changes to the names used for Partners For Kids geographic regions. Going forward, the Southeast/South Central Region will be called the Central Region and the West Central Region will be called the West Region. Providers may notice these changes on reports, printed and electronic materials and the website filter function. Changes will be made as materials are refreshed, so there will be a time in which both the old and new names are used. The change is simply a new naming convention. The counties comprising each region remain the same.

First Patients Receive TytoCare Devices
Dayton Children’s has partnered with TytoCare to offer their Home Smart Clinic to Partners For Kids patients who are seen in the Dayton Children’s Pediatrics practice. The device offers the functionality to perform diagnostics from the convenience of a patient’s home. Whether an otoscope or stethoscope, tongue depressor or thermometer, Tytocare can replace a great number of in-person visits that traditional audio/video telehealth cannot. The initial use case is dedicated to reducing avoidable ED visits and the population of families was selected due to their increase utilization of the ED and Urgent Care.
Within the first month since launch, 73 devices have gone into patient homes with five visits already completed. It’s anticipated that the busy season will be later this year during the fall/winter season when acute illness is high. For more information on TytoCare here or contact Dan Sweeny at sweenyd@childrensdayton.org
