Parent and Family Programs
Duke Families,
An annual tradition unlike any other, Duke’s Family Weekend provides the opportunity for undergraduate parents and families to engage in the life of the University and cultivate a deeper understanding of the Duke student experience. While we expect the fall will look much more like what we are accustomed to, all plans are still subject to change at any time based on public health guidance.
Family Weekend 2021 will be held Friday, October 15 – Sunday, October 17. More details, a schedule, and registration will be posted to the Parent and Family Programs webpage the first week of August.

We anticipate welcoming families to campus for this weekend; however, COVID-19 conditions could change this at any time. Ensuring the health and safety of the Duke and Durham communities, as well as our Duke families, is paramount. Any in-person visitors will be expected to adhere to campus COVID-19 policies for their safety and the safety of the Duke community.
Families can expect a full weekend of programming designed to engage families in the life of Duke’s campus. Some virtual events will be offered for families who are not able to join us in person. Family Weekend programming and events will include academic lectures by some of our most distinguished faculty, information sessions for signature Duke support services and co-curricular opportunities, and a series of tours and other ways to experience elements of student life at Duke. For planning purposes, please note that programming—whether virtual or in-person—will begin Friday morning and continue through midday Sunday.
Please feel free to contact the Office of Parent & Family Programs at familyprograms@duke.edu with any questions you may have regarding Family Weekend.
We hope you will join us October 15-17!
