Duke Partners With OpenAI, Other Universities To Find Best Uses For AI in Research
Duke University has partnered with OpenAI to create a roadmap for integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into academic and government research, aiming to accelerate scientific discoveries. The collaboration, part of OpenAI’s NextGenAI consortium, will focus on identifying which scientific fields can benefit most from AI and exploring new models of collaboration between the public and private sectors. The initiative, called Deep Tech at Duke, will be led by professors David Hoffman and Ronnie Chatterji, and will bridge research, industry, and policy in areas like AI, quantum computing, and climate finance. This partnership will also forecast the economic impact of AI in scientific research, potentially driving innovation and economic growth.
