Mental Health Month | Innovate Series | In the News
May was an inspiring month for mental health! Thank you for joining us to fight the stigma associated with mental illness. Even as mental health month draws to a close and we enter the dog days of summer the fight against stigma is not over.
The UC Davis Behavioral Health Center of Excellence was happy to see so many of you at mental health awareness events such as Mental Health Matters Day at the Capitol, NAMIWalks Sacramento and the mental health fair at UC Davis!
Watch "Firearm Violence and Mental Illness" on Youtube! Garen Wintemute, professor of emergency medicine and internationally renowned director of the Violence Prevention Research Program at UC Davis Health System, and Amy Barnhorst, assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences present the facts and de-stigmatize the relationship between firearm violence and mental illness.
