♥ For World Suicide Prevention Day on Sept 10th, we shared 5 ways to be a part of awareness and prevention of death to suicide.
♥ Some interesting facts about suicide that help illuminate the impact.
♥ The Christi Center will thave a table at the upcoming Out of the Darkness Walk -  register now to take part in the walk, or help out by volunteering at The Christi Center's information table on October 19th.
♥ Our Loss of a Loved One to Suicide Group is having a potluck this month on Tuesday, Sept. 30th.  All members (past and present--and even future)--are welcome to attend!

Get involved!
We're always looking for volunteers--and hope you'll find something that piques your interest. Here are some upcoming volunteer opportunities:
♥ Volunteer at the 2nd Annual Texas vs. The World Track Meet--at Texas State University Sept. 27 & 28th. Proceeds benefit The Christi Center and other local organizations. Sign up HERE.
♥ We've been keeping our resident handymen busy, and we'd love to add another Handy Person to our team. If you're good a troubleshooting and fixing common household issues, please let us know!
♥ We're recruiting a kind soul (or several) to support our Kids Who Kare program by providing a simple meal on the 2nd Wednesdays of the month. If you can commit once, or on an on-going basis, please email the Kids Who Kare Coordinator, Victoria
♥ Want to volunteer, but haven't found the right fit yet? Apply to be a volunteer and we'll send you a monthly newsletter and opportunities as they come up.
Camino de Santiago Stories
Our theme for October's 2nd Stage Monday will be "The Healing Power of Travel", featuring guest speakers Danni Morford, Kate von Alt, and Elda Arellano, who walked across northern Spain as part of the Camino de Santiago--a historical pilgrimage they undertook as tribute to their sons Travis, Garrett and Jesse. And, we'll explore ways travel can help you in your own grief journey.

P.S.: Here's an article by a woman who cycled 1200 miles of thePacific Coast the autumn after the death of her son.
