HOT TOPICS HABITAT YOGA: A yoga class through Habitat Yoga starting October 29 for grades K-4 will be offered and Ms. Sarah Osborne, 2nd grade teacher, will be the instructor. Click here for the flyer, and here to sign up. CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP: A merciless cloudless sky greeted our squad this Sunday past, but it did not dampen the competitive spirit of our Running Raiders! Right out of the gate, our 7th & 8th Girls Team tore into the course, securing the 4th place diocesan Girls Team Trophy. Three of our girls won individual trophies by placing in the top 20 finishers: Bella Guillamondegui (PREP) (2nd place), Arin Nipp (11th place), & Grace Darke (18th place). Grace Holland tore into the finish passing several other runners to secure our trophy.
They were followed by the 7th & 8th Boys Team who won the 3rd Place diocesan Boys Team Trophy with Sean Meffe (3rd place), Venn Stany (11th place), & Henry Hill (12th place) all receiving individual trophies. Joey Maffei fought off several tough challengers to help bring home the gold.
We also had top 10 finishers in every race! In fact, we had 16 of our students finish in the top 10 of their races securing their coveted “FITT” (Finished in the Top Ten) Awards:
Kindergarten Boys—3 Brendan Casey, Luca Whitson & Henry Williams
1st/2nd Girls—1 Josephine Ness
1st/2nd Boys—3 Luke Meyer, Carson Dunn & Ryan Anderson
3rd/4th Girls—2 Eleonore Ness & Lila Thigpen
3rd/4th Boys—3 Gabe Guillamondegui (PREP), Sam Halloran & Patton Sevier
5th/6th Girls—1 Ava Williams
5th/6th Boys—1 Ryan Jones
7th/8th Girls—1 Bella Guillamondegui (PREP)
7th/8th Boys—1 Sean Meffe
Though it was a short season, your cross country team showed their "Courage, Commitment, and Character,” with an outstanding performance!
Thank you, Coach Marty Heflin, for your dedication!
