COVID-19 Prevention
Following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Oregon Health Authority guidelines, Lane County Public Health recommends individuals wear a mask when indoors to prevent COVID-19 due to current local transmission rates. WCH Oregon22 event organizers encourage the use of masks in all indoor spaces including public bathrooms and transportation.
Wearing a mask indoors when around others is an effective personal strategy for reducing the risk of COVID-19. KN95 masks are available on campus to UO students and employees at these locations.
Building Access
Due to fewer UO students and employees being on campus and increased visitors for WCH Oregon22, many UO buildings may have limited or restricted access during July.
- Some public buildings, such as UO museums and EMU dining venues, will remain open. Check with individual programs or departments about hours, operations, and access before heading to campus buildings this summer.
- Some academic and office buildings, such as the science complex and Johnson Hall, may only be accessible to students and employees and may require ID card access during regular business hours. Check with the building manager or your supervisor, instructor, or program manager if you have questions about building access.
Parking
This week peak parking impacts start across campus. UO students and employees are encouraged to use alternative transportation including bikes, public transportation, or shuttles.
- A LTD bus pass is free to all UO employees. LTD also has park and ride options. Additional information is available on the LTD website.
- There are increased opportunities for bike parking including bike valets during the event.
Traffic
Peak traffic impacts on campus start this week. We do not recommend having someone drop you off on the restricted roads inside campus boundaries. Carpooling to campus with colleagues is highly encouraged when possible.
- Vehicle Access Passes are required for some campus roads.
- Agate Street is closed to vehicle and pedestrian access.
- Peak impacts around the Autzen Stadium complex will be during road race days.
- Efforts are being made to reduce the duration of road impacts and some dates were pushed back. For the latest information on road closures and restrictions visit WCH Oregon22's Know Before You Go webpage.
Cybersecurity
The Information Security Officer asks all UO students, faculty, and staff to be vigilant about phishing and other scams throughout WCH Oregon22. With the world's attention on the UO, even people who aren't directly supporting the event may be targeted by cybercriminals. Protect yourself and your fellow Ducks and help ensure a secure event.
Safe and Welcoming
We are asking visitors and the community to assist us in providing a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. Like other large events, there will be safety restrictions in place. if you See Something, Say Something.
