Submit Ideas for 2026 Nationals Extemp Questions
|
Students, coaches, alumni, and Extemp enthusiasts are invited to submit questions for consideration at the 2026 National Tournament! Community contributions help ensure a relevant and engaging set of questions for the competition.

Interested in getting more involved? You can also volunteer for the Extemp question editing team. Editors must be NSDA alumni, coaches, or adult community members and cannot have students competing in both International Extemp (IX) and United States Extemp (USX) at Nationals.
To participate, simply indicate your interest on the Topic Submission Form.

Get Paid to Share Your Expertise with Fellow Coaches
|
Support the speech and debate community by sharing your knowledge and expertise with others. We are looking for subject matter experts to create engaging materials on a variety of topics, including competition events, running a team, and teaching classes. If you are interested in getting paid to create and share materials, fill out this interest form.

Entering Points for Non-NSDA Events
|
Did you know your students can earn points for competing in non-NSDA events? Popular categories include Mock Trial, Model UN, Girls/Boys State, DECA, and International Public Policy Forum. Guidance for entering these points begin on page 16 of the Unified Manual.

Chart Your Students' Progress on the Road to Premier Distinction
|

When your students join the NSDA, they embark on the road to Premier Distinction, the highest degree level in our Honor Society.
Use this poster in your classroom, hallways, or team bulletin board to highlight some of the stops they can make on their journey.

Final Reminder: Last Day to Use Prepaid Memberships
|
Today, March 31, 2026, is the last day to use any prepaid memberships for 2025-2026. We are preparing to transition to a flat fee membership model for next school year. In early April, any existing prepaid memberships will be converted to account credits for future application to membership expenses or National Tournament entry fees.

Register for the Last-Chance Qualifier
|
Registration for the Last-Chance Qualifier is open through April 17! This free, online tournament is an opportunity for students who did not qualify through their district tournament to have a chance to attend the 2026 National Tournament. The Last-Chance Qualifier will be held April 23-25, 2026.

Plan Your Honor Society Induction
|
|
|
Hosting an official induction ceremony for the NSDA Honor Society is a great way to celebrate your students. Many schools opt to do it at the end of the year to celebrate progress or couple it with a team banquet or end of year party.

Apply for Support to Attend Nationals by April 22
|
|
|
Is your team planning to attend Nationals and in need of support to make it happen? Apply for a grant from the Road to Nationals Fund by April 22!
These grants support high school teams who need financial assistance and can be used for food, travel, and lodging expenses. Grants range from $100 to $1,000, with average grants of $500.
