Now Accepting Nominations for the State Educator of the Year Awards

We heard your requests for more time! Click here to learn more about requirements for the State Educator of the Year awards or to submit a nomination by the new deadline, November 2. Remember, each state recipient will be considered for the national award. Below, 2018 National Educator of the Year Mary Gormley shares her take on the importance of speech and debate in the classroom.
"The world of speech and debate inside the brick and mortar classroom, and the classroom of the world, provides grit. It is a place where it is not only okay to fail, it is essential. It teaches children to be inquisitive, to be tolerant of opposing viewpoints, to be responsible for their rhetoric."
Do you know an educator like Mary who values speech and debate and goes above and beyond in the classroom? Nominate them today!

The Road to Premier Distinction

Premier Distinction is the highest degree level in our Honor Society. Every time students compete at a tournament or complete a service activity, they're earning points and moving up in degrees. The roadmap below outlines some of the possible stops they can make on their way to our highest level of distinction.
